#5 at Radium siding
Author: SP8595

Amtrak engines 24 and 193 head West on #5 at the East switch at Radium with a paltry looking Colorado River in the foreground on November 17, 2012. Radium is located approximately 115 miles West of Denver on the ex-D&RGW Moffat Tunnel line.

Terrific image. A real privilege to have experienced this ride in person on several occasions.

U got me! There is RADIUM in RICHMOND, CA on the BNSF but #5/6 don't run on it. 1st thought was a detour.

This RADIUM is in Colorado, milepost 116.4 on the Moffat Tunnel Subdivision of the UP, about 13 miles west of Kremmling, CO, 40 miles west of the nearest Amtrak stop at Granby, CO.
