Always a great day to be out watching the holiday show. Had fun here around Chicago today, too.

The fares certainly can get ungodly pretty quickly at a buck to a buck fifty etc per mile. I don't know if Amtrak used the same pricing policy this year as it has in the past. Back then, the holiday extra trains were priced a little cheaper than the regular regional service. Some of the holiday extra trains were set up for service from NY Penn to DC, while the regular regional trains didn't carry local traffic on that day only. That way the Richmond etc trains could focus on longer haul, higher revenue passengers. |
