Passenger Trains > Coast Starlight QuestionDate: 12/04/12 23:36 Coast Starlight Question Author: alaska After looking at a photo of this train's consist I noticed the parlor car, but no sightseer.
Am I to assume that there is not sightseer for the coach passengers but only the parlor for the sleeping car/first class passengers? Thanks, just curious. Hal Date: 12/04/12 23:46 Re: Coast Starlight Question Author: SCUfoamer alaska Wrote:

Locomotive Locomotive Baggage Trans/Dorm Sleeper Sleeper Sleeper Parlour Car Dining Car Sightseer Lounge Car Coach Coach Coach They add a coach and sleeper during peak periods, but that should be the normal consist right now. Date: 12/05/12 22:42 Re: Coast Starlight Question Author: alaska Thanks very much, I just could not pick out the sightseer car in this photo of this train.
Please tell me if the lowest numbered sleeper is next to the parlour car. In the CZ this was true that the lowest numberd sleeper was in fact next to the diner and I was able to make my reservation this way by asking the agent to book me on this car. Does this practice also apply to the SW Chief? Thanks Hal Date: 12/06/12 08:53 Re: Coast Starlight Question Author: coaststarlight99 The sleeper next to the Parlour Car is either the 1130 or 1430 car (depending upon if you are on train 11 or train 14). I don't know about the east coast trains, but on the western long-distance trains, the "30" car is always next to the diner. There is one exception and that is the Zephyr, which for some reason does not have a 30 car. So in that case ONLY, it's the 31 car (0531 or 0631) that is next to the diner.
