'Twas the (second) night before Christmas

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Snug in a warm passenger train, here are some shots as we crossed the Cascades on the rear of the Coast Starlight, heading back to warm California. Pictures by Al Bishop.

Very nice, Thanks for sharing.
Was this the day #14 was running about 8 hours late?
You may have met them somewhere in the Cascades.

Those are stunning images. Being a locomotive engineer is certainly not for the faint of heart.

Taken from the rear of which car? Didn't know a northbound signal would turn green so quickly.

In ABS territory, as soon as the track circuit picks up the signal protecting it will clear.

Al has done a whole lot of most interesting and exciting things in his life and he certainly could have had a professional photographer career among them!! Merry and Happy everything to you both!
