Around "MH" Tower today...
Author: aussiehinz

Of course, I can't hope to match the exotic goings on near Milwaukee described in the thread below by Gene Poon, but here are a couple views of activity around "MH" Tower (Union Avemue) today. Amtrak Train #6 arrived tardy, with BNSF 7010 in the lead, which I grabbed at 18th Street while the train was being turned.

Cheers,

aussiehinz

1. Amtrak Train #21, the "Texas Eagle," departs Chicago on time, and passes 18th Street at 1:47 PM CDT.

2. Amtrak Train #5, the "California Zephyr," also departed on time, and is seen here passing Halsted Street at 2:05 PM CDT.

3. Amtrak Train #6, the inbound CZ, turns at 18th Street with BNSF 7010 on the point.

Aussiehinz- I noted that (some of) the lights were on but nobody was home at "MH" tower as #306 was turned on the wye with PV Puget Sound on the rear tonight. FYI we head out tomorrow on #50 with Northern Dreams in tow for a couple of days in DC. Return departs WAS on Sunday.

Okay, how can both the inbound CZ and outbound CZ both be #5?
Confused minds want to know!

The third pic looks like the #6.

I looked again, it is #23, not #21. My bad!

That's funny; many of my friends have been saying that exact same thing to me for years....

Seriously, was probably having some dinner with my daughter when you happened by. I did catch "Puget Sound" and "Northern Dreams" on # 50 this evening as you left town, though.

The thought of nudity at "MH" just chills the soul......
