What would be the approximate times for Auto Train at the Florence, SC, service stop, north and southbound? After midnight?

on time, 53 at 2300hrs,

52 about an hour later....not long after 98 leaves. (if hes on time). 52 is usually about 20-30mins behind 98

Despite the Auto Train being more of an "express train" of sorts (and having slightly less max speeds than #98), I take it that the Auto Train would remain behind #98 per internal schedules? I would imagine this could get interesting at times!!!

Is fuel a problem on a nonstop trip like that or is that one of things Florence, NC is all about?

Fuel, water, crew change. Now a smoke stop for pax too. It's in SC not NC.

The train is fueled at Florence. Seems likely the P40/42s could make the entire journey on one tank, but given that they provide HEP and it wouldn't be unheard of for a train to have to detour or wait out an unexpected delay for many hours, it seems like good practice to keep an adequate reserve of fuel.

Judging from what KV1Guy(who has run this train) says, the trip takes just over one full tank of fuel, hence the refueling in Florence.
