I believe that was Fall River, Wisconsin on the derailment. An Amtrak attendant buddy of mine recounts gingerly going thru this area one Spring and the water was actually over the rail. This shot was taken March 25, 1986 and the railroad was shut down here and the Empire Builder was detouring on the BN. I believe this is part of the Crawfish river watershed that eventually flows into the Rock river. It felt like the air temperature dropped about 15 to 20 degrees when I walked down where the water was. I just looked in my files and it was in October of 86 when #8 went on the ground.

Many memories, especially of building that bridge and the other at 139.08 which you might just barely pick out at the far end just before the track comes back out of the water.
