Where is this high water location?

Where is it? With all the flooding lately, this location is a problem almost every Spring.

Meant to put it on Nostalgia page, but this route does have passenger trains on it.

You got the passenger train right, but a different state.

Is it that swampy area near Reeseville, Wisconsin on the Canadian Pacific. Didn't an Empire Builder derail there in 1986?

Bingo! I'll have to check my files on that. I believe that was Fall River, Wisconsin on the derailment. An Amtrak attendant buddy of mine recounts gingerly going thru this area one Spring and the water was actually over the rail. This shot was taken March 25, 1986 and the railroad was shut down here and the Empire Builder was detouring on the BN. I believe this is part of the Crawfish river watershed that eventually flows into the Rock river. It felt like the air temperature dropped about 15 to 20 degrees when I walked down where the water was. I just looked in my files and it was in October of 86 when #8 went on the ground.

Here is a shot from December 2008, Bridge 138.03 looking west

Many memories, especially of building that bridge and the other at 139.08 which you might just barely pick out at the far end just before the track comes back out of the water.

That looks a little too green for December in Wisconsin. How about June 2008?

Good point. I misread the notation on the file. It should be 6-12-08, not 12-08
