Passenger Trains > Metrolink loaners enrouteDate: 07/26/13 18:21 Metrolink loaners enroute Author: CCMF Metrolink will be receiving three RBRX F59PH's (built for GO Transit) on a 6-8 month lease.
RBRX 18533 is by North Platte West at 1930-26 on UP train MNPWC2. It is in the aborted MiTrain scheme (Google RBRX 18533 for photos) RBRX 18520 is at Proviso, IL. This one is still in GO green and white. The third one is undetermined (by me) yet. Bill Miller Galt, ON Date: 07/26/13 18:22 Re: Metrolink loaners enroute Author: joemvcnj Isn't GO's HEP 560v while everyone else's is 480v ?
Date: 07/26/13 18:30 Re: Metrolink loaners enroute Author: CCMF RBRX 18522 is the 3rd unit.
I don't know about HEP, but I do know some equipment can be run on either. Bill Miller Galt, ON Date: 07/26/13 18:30 Re: Metrolink loaners enroute Author: CCMF Also of note, these units have until recently been leased to AMT in Montreal.

The 18533 is by Moapa, NV @ 9:59AM, due into LATC at 3PM on July 30th, tentatively. Date: 07/27/13 12:56 Re: Metrolink loaners enroute Author: EtoinShrdlu Incompatibilities include HEP voltage and the configuration of the communication trainline cables.
Date: 07/27/13 13:12 Re: Metrolink loaners en route Author: dan thought it would require special jumpers, yet atk engines hauled those via cars on the Adirondack.
a pv owner watched his car get hooked up on via and was shorted out, because they didn't use those special cables, i read Date: 07/27/13 14:32 Re: Metrolink loaners en route Author: joemvcnj VIA is more compatible with Amtrak than GO is, which is a different voltage.

GO Transit is 575V. That's a standard industrial voltage in Canada but so far as I know GO is the only rail system using it. |
