When the sources of routine delay can be eliminated, and the eastern section gets higher speeds, I think they really need to expand frequency and they will be able to fill the trains if they do it. Date: 08/28/13 11:59 Re: Michigan trains to get Wi-Fi Author: robj inCHI Wrote:

I still rely on WiFi but as we all know, many now have their own internet and I actually could also bring my little portable verizon wifi if I wanted. Still a positive but getting a little late in the game? Kinda like movies on the plane, so many people have their own on the computer. Do they have 110 outlets?? the thing I see the most is people looking for power source??? Bob Date: 08/28/13 19:52 Re: Michigan trains to get Wi-Fi Author: inCHI robj Wrote:

Many have internet via phone but I don't think many have the amount of coverage to make a wireless network via their phone connection, much less one that works across the rural territory in Michigan. Usually adding that feature is pretty pricey. For those who want to get work done I think the wifi is very helpful, and it covers the basic social networking stuff many do. Out here in California, the Capitol Corridor and UC Davis did a study and found "an estimated 2.7% increase in round trips between 2011 and 2012 could be attributed to Wi-Fi" and that "Wi-Fi’s impact on Capitol Corridor ridership exceeded the level needed to justify its implementation."
