Thanks to amanwtf for the heads-up Date: 04/21/14 12:10 Re: Sprinter 600 on train 174; 601 on train 91 Author: chuchubob Date: 04/21/14 13:47 Re: Sprinter 600 on train 174; 601 on train 91 Author: dispr Great Pictures!
Anyone know whether Amtrak is satisfied with the Sprinter performance so far? Date: 04/21/14 13:59 Re: Sprinter 600 on train 174; 601 on train 91 Author: railcity Why does Amtrak have 2 old track not in use and where all Old panel track going too??
Date: 04/21/14 17:23 Re: Sprinter 600 on train 174; 601 on train 91 Author: Red I rather like the looks of these Darth Vader-looking electric locos--and SURELY we have some NEC hogheads on here who can compare their performance to HHP-8s & AEM-7s???
And if not that, psgrs riding behing them who can attest to their acceleration, etc.??? I suspect, however, that as a psgr, they are probably about like riding behind a HHP-8 unit. Just...HOPEFULLY...more durable, standardized, with greater ease of maintenance, etc. Date: 04/22/14 06:03 Re: Sprinter 600 on train 174; 601 on train 91 Author: bluesboyst I caught it at Canton Jct, MA. yesterday....nice engine.
Steve Date: 04/22/14 07:29 Re: Sprinter 600 on train 174; 601 on train 91 Author: tmurray Not necessarily. With an HHP-8, you could easily get motion sickness with the jerking motion of its low end acceleration.
If that wasn't enough, the risk factor of having to get out to push was much higher.. Not sad to see that tub of crap gone. -Tom Red Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > And if not that, psgrs riding behing them who can > attest to their acceleration, etc.??? > > I suspect, however, that as a psgr, they are > probably about like riding behind a HHP-8 unit. > Just...HOPEFULLY...more durable, standardized, > with greater ease of maintenance, etc. Date: 04/22/14 08:49 Re: Sprinter 600 on train 174; 601 on train 91 Author: Out_Of_Service railcity Wrote:
