After train 174 met Acela Express train 2155, I waited for train 91 Silver Star, just in case.

Great Pictures!
Anyone know whether Amtrak is satisfied with the Sprinter performance so far?

I rather like the looks of these Darth Vader-looking electric locos--and SURELY we have some NEC hogheads on here who can compare their performance to HHP-8s & AEM-7s???

And if not that, psgrs riding behing them who can attest to their acceleration, etc.???

I suspect, however, that as a psgr, they are probably about like riding behind a HHP-8 unit. Just...HOPEFULLY...more durable, standardized, with greater ease of maintenance, etc.

Not necessarily. With an HHP-8, you could easily get motion sickness with the jerking motion of its low end acceleration.
If that wasn't enough, the risk factor of having to get out to push was much higher..

Not sad to see that tub of crap gone.
