I'm not sure if any have been officially stricken from the roster, but a few have been retired for all practical purposes (including at least two HHP-8's that got sent to Wilmington for indefinite storage).

A total of four HHP-8's have been retired thus far. No AEM-7's as of yet …..

Why's Train 129 on the outside track here at Bristol? This is the 2nd photo I've seen of Train 129 on the outside track, when most Amtrak trains operate on the inside tracks. Do the dispatchers put it over there because the Acela is so close behind?

Even though somewhat boxy looking, those lights give that unit some personality! Looks more interesting than most euro-boxes, in my opinion.

What are the four? I have only heard of one or two....

I still find it hard to believe that there was NO practical way to make the HHP's reliable.......anyone have the inside scoop??

PM is fine if you wish to remain anonymous.....
