Little Rock, Arkansas - Texas Eagle
Author: Carex

I may ride the Sunset/Texas Eagle from LAX to Little Rock this October. Wondering what is the closest Motel 6 to the train station? Thanks for any help.

Motel 6 has a web site.It will list the locations
with a street address.Look at Mapquest for location
and directions.
Now isn't that hard?

Motel 6 - Little Rock North #4465
I-40 at John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Exit #153-A
400 West 29th Street
North Little Rock, AR 72114
(501) 758-5100

Would be the closet to Amtrak's Little Rock Union Station (about 2 1/2 miles).

Hopes this helps vs. the previous smart a*s answer.

I disagree! If the idiot can use the computer to
ask a question for you or someone else to answer
why can't he do it himself. You fell right into his
lazy trap!

Indeed, if he doesn't like human contact he should be working for Amtrak's OAK PR office.

I hope your trip goes well. I did not find taxis waiting so it would be best, if possible, to look up a cab company and call them in advance of arrival, if possible (i.e. when the train is an hour away and you can reasonably anticipate the arrival time). I noticed the Amtrak agent is very busy at train time so he or she might not be able to call for a cab for you right away.

I stayed at the Capital Hotel which, even at late hours, provides a complimentary shuttle service (nice, historic hotel but pricey).

While in town, during the day, I suggest riding the replica streetcars which operate between Little Rock and North Little Rock.

The upstairs (main part) of the former Union Station (former MoPac) is used by a public agency. There are historic photos inside but you likely could only visit during business hours (Monday-Friday daytime hours). Amtrak uses the lower portion of the depot.

The former Rock Island depot is part of the Clinton Library complex (served by the River Rail Streetcar). However, the interior is not always open to the public. There are interesting free brochures on the station's history, including photos, at the Library's gift shop. It is located about 1/4 mile away from the main complex but there is a frequent shuttle available if you prefer not to walk.

There is the Holiday Inn Presidential and the Comfort Inn Downtown that will provide pickup service if notified in advance. There is usually several cabs at the station upon arrival. If not the cab phone # is 501-222-2222. The Comfort Inn is very good about dropping passengers off at restaurants and picking them up.
