Passenger Trains > Crossing the river - Empire Builder at the DellsDate: 09/20/14 02:53 Crossing the river - Empire Builder at the Dells Author: pummer Amtrak train #8, the eastbound Empire Builder, crosses the Wisconsin River at Wisconsin Dells, WI on September 19, 2014. One day after being only seven minutes late, Friday's train was 5 hours and 23 minutes late - arriving in the Dells only about 20 minutes ahead of #7.

Marty Bernard Date: 09/20/14 10:47 Re: Crossing the river - Empire Builder at the Dells Author: ColdRainAndSnow The area's geography and ecology are amazing at the Dells. But you could certainly call much of its CBD cheesy and touristy. In that sense, the sign is par for the course given that the CBD is just ahead of that lead unit.

The billboard has always been a nuisance for me, but at least it's near the end of the bridge. It's pretty visible to the hordes of tourists coming across the highway bridge into town.
