NJ: PATH 33rd street line shut on Sunday
Author: Lackawanna484

NJ.com reports the Port Authority transHudson rail service to 33rd street was suspended on Sunday due to a fire at 19th street. The long shuttered station still houses parts of the tunnel ventilation system. The site reports the fire has been extinguished.

PATH operates several lines which vary depending on the time of day, day of the week, and repair schedules. On Sunday days, the line runs 33rd to Hoboken to Newport to Journal Square. With shuttles from Newark to JSQ due to construction at World Trade at Exchange Place.

Due to a track condition, service on the JSQ-33rd & 33rd-HOB lines is suspended. NJT is cross honoring PATH ticket holders via Bus and Rail.

Shut down all day Tuesday. No word on when it will re-open

The current story is there's smoke etc in the area. I wonder if there are also suspended particles of asbestos from this 1900s era station?
