Date: 10/21/14 02:13 Re: Whereizit Twofer Author: JPB Yes indeed photo #1 is the MBTA's new Yawkey station serving Fenway Park / Kenmore Sq / BU area. I guess being squeezed against the MassPike Extension accounts for the somewhat strange platform arrangement.
Photo #2 is in Lowell but it's several blocks away from the National Trolley Museum site. Rather this is the car barn that is situated at the end of an old mill that currently houses the Boot Cotton Mills Museum. The attached Google Maps link to an aerial photo shows a trolley sitting on the curved bridge over the pleasantly titled "Merrimack Wasteway". The bridge connects the building to the street trackage. https://goo.gl/maps/bdy0w Another item of interest visited by the Lowell NP trolley is B&M RR Historical Society's preserved Boston and Maine 0-6-0 switcher: http://www.bmrrhs.org/overview Edited 2 time(s).
