Passenger Trains > Amtrak's "Blue Ribbon": panel on delaysDate: 10/28/14 14:29 Amtrak's "Blue Ribbon": panel on delays Author: floridajoe2001 I'm not sure this committee can do very much to improve Chicago delays--especially if they are just going to "invite" the freight roads to participate. Shouldn't the freight railroads be running this show?
I wonder What Amtrak will do with the findings of this committee when they're finished--mail the NS and CSX a copy? Anyway, I'm confused. Shouldn't the STB be doing this, instead of Amtrak? I agree 100%. This appears to be a PR show. Absent membership from one of the freight railroads or the AAR, it does not seem to be a serious effort to actually fix things. Plus, as you said, this is exactly what the STB is supposed to do. |
