Silver Rapids Question
Author: EspeeGoldenState

I can't find a pic for a definitive answer.

Does the Silver Rapids still have the PRR lettering on the corners?

Do not believe so.

I certainly never noticed any PRR lettering. There's a small picture on this page:

But it may be too small to answer your question.

Click on "Contact Us" on that page and I'm sure that Burt or Al can answer your question for sure.

The stainless plates where the "PRR" used to be are still there on the car, but that etched lettering was buffed out years ago - maybe by Amtrak during a 1970's refurbishment. The "PRR" has not been restored since the car was put in service as a PV.

When I first saw the car at Galesburg RR days years ago it was lettered Pennsylvania across the top with only the Ghost of California Zephyr visible from some angles. This was when Goodheart still owned it.
