Passenger Trains > Lake Shore Limited - Departing 11/18/2014Date: 11/18/14 18:00 Lake Shore Limited - Departing 11/18/2014 Author: jp1822 I see that train #49 is listed as having a service disruption. It would appear that it didn't even leave NYP. Considering that #48 and even #64 is still trying to get through upstate NY (both trains running over 5 hours late with NY Governor Cuomo calling a state of Emergency for the Buffalo, NY area. Will #48 be held in Chicago or go under the same fate of #49 that was to leave NYP today (11/18/2014)?
Will Amtrak add a coach to the Capitol Limited to try and handle the Lake Shore Limited's load between Midwest and Cleveland, and even those who need to get to points on the Empire or Northeast Corridor? I have been onboard many times when sleeping car passengers have said they'd rather take the Capitol Limited to NYC than the Lake Shore (and vice versa)? Guess it is too late for the Capitol Limited Eastbound, but the train is listed as sold out Chicago to Washington in sleeper and coach........Westbound there's some bedrooms, but less than 2 Roomettes left. Amtrak has suspended service between Cleveland and Albany until at least tomorrow. CSX is about to follow suit.

No issue at the Airport. As of yesterday they had only gotten 6 inches at Buffalo airport. But there is a LOT of wind, with waves of 11 feet on Lake Erie. So there could well be a lot of blowing snow and drifting even if the first fall doesn't pile up in your neighborhood.
