Was just watching and I'll be curious as to why the train ultimately derailed. Debris under the wheels, damage to the ties/track from the debris as they were pushed down the track, etc? But in looking at the video, everything is off the tracks, even if they are upright. Also looks like the tracks spread out about where the cars are on their sides. Would concrete ties be better able to hold the track in gauge when a car leaves the tracks? I'm guessing no because of the mass of the car vs the strength of the tie clips, but just curious?

Hope everyone comes out of this ok, can't believe Metrolink and it's riders have to go through another one of these incidents.

Video may be available from today's derailment. Cab car video and security camera from nearby buildings. Two or three years ago a video was shown of a grade crossing collision at this same intersection. A tractor trailer was on the tracks an Amtrak Surfliner hit the trailer. A nearby business had a security camera that caught the accident.

The strawberry truck incident captured on cameras in 2005 was at the Rose crossing. Today's incident happened at Rice.

Well your rather ill-coneeived post makes no sense and has nothing to do with this collision. I'm surprised that no one has called you out on this.
