Woman hit by Caltrain today in Palo Alto, CA
Author: Margaret_SP_fan

Not again! This is the THIRD incident on
CalTrain in TWO DAYS! Last night, a man
was in Tunnel #1 in SF and was struck and
killed by a southbound Caltrain around 9 pm.

At least, in this case, the woman is still alive,
at last report.

My deep condolences to the family and friends
of those who have died, and my deep caring and
concern for the crews of all 3 trains, as well as the
first responders, and my best wishes for a speedy
and complete recovery for the woman who was hit today.

Please please stay behind the yellow line, people! And out of the tunnels!

Funny you should mention stay out of tunnels. I am a member of a large scale ride on railroad club and during an event we were holding was running a train. The layout has a tunnel with a curve inside just enough if you have twenty feet of engines ahead you cannot see the other end. Well into the tunnel I go with a load of passengers, now this thing has a two cylinder not well muffled engine barking away. Headlight on into the tunnel I go and just around the corner here stands a woman with her late teen age son, I was not going too fast and they exited the tunnel just ahead of the lead engine. Her comment was gee I didn't know trains used the tunnel, ya cant fix stupid I guess.
