AMTK has these train in service disruption mode. These would be the trains that
were supposed to leave LAX Sunday night and leave ABQ Sunday afternoon.
Possible trouble on the "Trans-Con??"

That was a freight that derailed, right? Hope
no one was injured.

Amtrak #3 ran to Flagstaff. Presumably discharged passengers to busses. At 530am MT they were backing the train east from depot to Purina, to use siding to run around train. They will then back west to depot. Will become #4.

# 4 of the 1st ran to Kingman; # 3 of Feb 28 ran to Flagstaff; bus bridge established between Kingman and Flagstaff. # 4 took a hit leaving Los Angeles because the units had to be switched from "elephant style" to "back-to-back". 4(1) equipment will turn and assume schedule of 3(28) at KNG; 3(28) equipment will turn and assume schedule of 4(1) at FLG. Capacity problems may develop as the set of equipment on the west side of the derailment has a dorm car and a third coach, while the set of equipment on the east side of the derailment does not.

There's no place to turn anything at Flagstaff, not even power, and 3(28) was configured elephant style.

Were the unit(s):
1. Turned at ABQ to make them back to back?
2. Turned on the turntable at WLO to reverse a loke?
3. Freight Motor added at FLG to allow it to run eastward with two westward P42s?

Seems like I saw a turn table in Flag or is it in Winslow?

Turntable is in Winslow. No locos turned at Flag, they must have already done it at ABQ or Winslow, before reaching Flag.

Most likely the power was reconfigured at ABQ. There was plenty of time taken there to do that.
