Passenger Trains > Starlight to Sunset connectionDate: 03/27/15 11:12 Starlight to Sunset connection Author: wzd How is Amtrak currently handling the connection from a late running Starlight to the Sunset at Los Angeles?
Thanks. Date: 03/27/15 12:42 Re: Starlight to Sunset connection Author: Jaanfo wzd Wrote:

Depends on the scenario... Option 1: If the train is running late before Sacramento you might get rerouted via the San Joaquins and associated thruway buses to make it. Option 2: If the San Joaquin is not an option for some reason Amtrak either holds the Sunset at LA, or dismbarks Sunset passengers at Oxnard and buses them to Pomona or Ontario. I'm coming down from the Bay Area, can always take the San Joaquin, but would prefer the Starlight. All connections were missed; Surfliner riders needed to "cab it".
Gauge your decision by how well teh Coast Starlight is adhering to its schedule on the day you travel. |
