STL>DAL #21 -- Dinner upon Boarding in STL?

Taking a trip tomorrow from STL>DAL, (Car 2120 Room 005) --  noticing that train comes in about 8:00pm, will dinner be available for passengers boarding at this stop?

The sleeping car passengers are supposed to be served dinner.  They usually take you straight in once you board.  Not all crews can be trusted, and if the train is late, look out!  But you are supposed to be served dinner.  Have a great trip.  The Eagle OTP has been better the last 3 days.

Looks like a UP, former C&EI detour day CHI-STL.  This often takes longer.  Be advised that you may have a late arrival in STL.

Any easy way to find out if the Texas Eagle will be detouring over the C&EI - I will be taking #22 from LA on Friday 4/24 - out of St Louis on Mon 4/27.

Tracking the Schedule today it looks like a 9:15pm arrival into STL for the Eagle Detour.

Since there are no intermediate stops, and there is a bus as per Amtrak's website for the 18th (an exemption) during this detour to STL, stopping in many cities.. Does anybody think that perhaps they will leave the diner open for later due to the only passengers on the train originating from Chicago?

If not... i got cash to blow and vacation to enjoy, any recomendations for STL around the Amtrak station that is accessable via foot or taxi?

Maybe some wonderful BBQ?

Don't count on dinner on the train.

Perhaps you can have dinner on Saturday evening instead of Friday.  Since 21 is over 5 hours late, get dinner prior to arrival in Dallas if you will just loose a few more minutes.
