Author: Wurli1938

Amtrak #65 was involved in a fatal accident in West Kingstown, RI last night.   http://www.turnto10.com/story/28839929/train-and-car-collide-in-south-kingstown
With the padding in NY, it was only about 25 minutes late arriving in WAS, but was over 6 hours late arriving in New Haven.

A large hand mounted on the front of the train to swat the cars and pedestrians away would have worked very well here!

It left New Haven at 7:19 but arrived DC at 7:21? That makes no sense.

Amtrak must have run an "on-time" #65 out of New York to make up for the late train.

The crossing at that location was closed years ago, so something fishy was going on with the vehicle.

It makes sense. Amtrak put together a close to ontime #65 makeup train that went 1hour and 45 minutes from New York and ran all the way to Newport News and the inbound almost 7 hour late original #65 was taken to Sunnyside and turned out as train #159.
