We've had a 3.5 mile streetcar line since 2004, celebrating the 10th anniversary last year. There are 5 streetcars (built at Gomaco in Iowa) with overhead wires that operate 7 days a week, usually until 10 p.m. but until midnight Thrusdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Ridership peaks on weekends with lots of tourists. Ridership has been averaging a little over 100,000 a year for the past several years.

Funding for this system comes from 4 sources: Cities of Little Rock, North Little Rock, plus Pulaski County.and passenger fares of $1. Workers two weeks ago serviced the entire line, replacing or repairing overhead fixtures.

The Little Rock streetcar line runs along the riverfront area, then across the Arkansas River into North Little Rock, near the arena.  It passes near the Clinton Library.  That whole area is a lot of fun.  I am going to be there in a few weeks.  Looking forward to it.
