Passenger Trains > Reno fun trainDate: 06/05/15 22:25 Reno fun train Author: MrOGDEN Hello,
Will someone tell me about the RFT, and its history. Looks like it is a nice short ride. Does it make the same stops as 5 & 6 too? MrOGDEN Posted from Android Date: 06/06/15 14:49 Re: Reno fun train Author: railstiesballast My 30-second web search brought me through Reno Fun Train to Vacations by Rail.com, and a whole list of schedules and events......
I've done both the snow train and the "fun" train (mid-week, daytime vs. weekend Friday night over the Sierras) and recommend the mid-week trip. Date: 06/06/15 18:23 Re: Reno fun train Author: CarolVoss railstiesballast Wrote:

The weekend train is serious partiers bearing huge rolling coolers of high octane beverages ---- much different clientele! Began as an idea to keep layoff car porters working. Dance car plus lounge and buffet meal service

The weekday train was by far a calmer situation. BTW: their hair was more a bluish hue. This was years ago when my daughter was still a babe-in-arms. My wife would carry her out track-side in Dutch Flat to roll us by- I'd make a PA announcement, "Cute baby coming up on the right side.." The little 'ol ladies loved that one.. A train much more my style! SR Date: 06/06/15 21:16 Re: Reno fun train Author: CarolVoss BoilingMan Wrote:

Because of my railfan status, a group of friends nominated me to organize a fun train trip in 1997-thanks to UP dispatching (i had my scanner so knew what was going on) we didnt get into Reno until 2 am and were 4 hours late coming home. Never rode it sgain. C Carol Voss Bakersfield, CA Date: 06/06/15 21:43 Re: Reno fun train Author: Mudrock Date: 06/06/15 22:13 Re: Reno fun train Author: MrOGDEN Mudrock Wrote:
