Passenger Trains > AMTK 4 (2)

Amtk 4 is dead in the water east of Kingman, where it departed only 11 minutes late.
Now awaiting help from a BNSF unit.  Initial delay est over 3 hours......per Amtrak.

Bart Jennings is on the train. Good luck Bart but have a safe trip and enjoy some scenery passengers usuallly don't get to see in daylight.

BNSF 4497 Added ahead. Not sure how far east it will go. At one time Amtrak used to have a protect unit at Albuquerque.

But the relief engine on 4(2) was identified as BNSF 4497...

However, as bad as the BNSF 4479 looked after that wreck, it was repaired, even though it wasn't
brand new (six years old when wrecked).  The most recent photo in RRPictureArchives from July 2015:

Ugh ... wrong number. Should have been the BNSF 4497. But hey, the BNSF 4479 probably still runs better than the AMTK 159 that was originally pulling A4(02) ...

No argument!  But still, what a repair job!  After that crash, nothing was left of the fireman-side front end of 
the BNSF 4479 outside of the center sill!

Lots of lost time not related to freight train speed !!
Pretty sad......3 hours late after picking up a freight unit.....
