The project, which wil include new tubes and approach tracks / capacity improvements etc has been bogged down in political and funding matters.U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx calls delays in building a new rail tunnel between New Jersey and New York "a poster child for what's wrong" in trying to build public works projects. In an interview in The Hill, a Washington newspaper that covers Congress, Foxx said he hoped to make the Gateway tunnel a success story rather than the problem it is now.
