Passenger Trains > Amtrak's Low-Water StarlightDate: 10/07/15 10:32 Amtrak's Low-Water Starlight Author: walstib With a new baggage car in the consist, the Coast Starlight rolls across Lake Shasta and toward Lakehead about noon yesterday.
The Starlight usually traverses this territory in the dark, but a grade-crossing collision near Salinas on Monday pushed the run through Shasta into daylight. The locomotive damaged in the collision was left in Salinas. A new second unit was added in Oakland. The second shot shows the same bridge with a tunnel from the original line visible in the low-water condition. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/07/15 13:15 by walstib.
