Passenger Trains > Vermonter 55 Canceled ?Date: 11/24/15 07:33 Vermonter 55 Canceled ? Author: mp16 The southbound train is currently shown by Amtrak as having a service disruption. It appears it never left St. Albans.
Amtraks Service alerts does not show it being canceled for track work north of Springfield for this date. Anybody know what's up ? Mechanical problems, hopefully not an accident ? No additional announcement under service alerts or wherever else they might put it.

The train hit a tree near White River Junction northbound on Monday. Engine was disabled. Train was annulled. Passengers were bustituted today north of Springfield MA in both directions. Somebody is supposed to fix the engine overnight (from what I heard) and they'll try again tomorrow. REVISION: Equipment to supplement what was damaged was what WRJ494 spotted heading north. The whole shebang was supposed to come south on Wednesday but depending on how much baling wire and duct tape are needed, there could be a change of plans. But a TRAIN is planned. Wish 'em luck.
