Is anyone else preparing for winter?
Author: twropr

Here's what METRA in Chicago is doing.
http://metrarail.com/metra/en/home/utility_landing/newsroom/newsroom/metra-prepares-for-winter-weather.html
Seems like everyone else is taken by surprise after the first six inches of snow or temperature drop below 10.
Hope I am wrong this year.

Kind of like all too many people run out to buy plastic snow shovels at Home Depot and invade super markets with famine mentality when a snow storm is forecast.

Further, weather forecasters seem to delight in forecasting domesday storms everytime it snows. It's been snowing ever since I was born. And probably more in years past than what we get currently...with last year being the exception with records set. Makes for good ratings I guess.

I didn't realize snow went back that far.  Sorry, couldn't resist.

Winter?  Snow?  What's that?  It's 78 degrees here today and the AC is on full in the house.

Well the sun was out and it gets much warmer in the house.  I keep it at 74 for the AC and 70 for the heat.  I am not made of money, but I do live in the South where it's very humid.  Where do you live Mr. Hall?

Sunny Riverside, California where it's not humid and it was 83 degrees 2 days ago and should be back in the 70's next week.
