Did you try the Silver Metour so  you can have dining car service which the Silver Star doesn't have?

There's availability on the Meteor.........The first choice over in the "Premium Column" is a "roomette" but then you can flip through and choose a roomette or other type of bedroom. For all intents and purposes, a roomette is a bedroom (it has a bed). It was formerly the standard bedroom, formerly the economy bedroom etc. Personally, I don't think roomette is the proper name (Gunn changed it to this), as a roomette typically indicated a room for just ONE. Whereas, the Viewliner "ROOMETTE" is a bedroom for two people, but it is a cramped space for two. But it is the BEST that the Viewliner can offer.

Perhaps Amtrak should try a name change on their bedroom choices when the new sleepers are rolled out. Then they can charge more! Re-brand and increase price seems to be another way for businesses (Amtrak not excluded) to get an upsell !

the BEST?
what about the two bedrooms in each Viewliner, plus the disabled bedroom?

Best in terms of volume offered on a Viewliner unfortunately! Two bedrooms and one Handicap room per car versus 12 roomettes....

Hope you didn't talk to Julie - you need a real live agent to book sleeper space!
