Passenger Trains > Albany and the Lake Shore TodayDate: 11/29/15 20:19 Albany and the Lake Shore Today Author: mp16 Just for fun I checked departure/arrival times of various trains at Albany to see how things worked out
4:20 pm---#49 departs, NYP 40 mins. late 5:43 pm---449 arrives Albany 17 mins. early 6:15 pm---# 68 arrives Albany 18 mins. late 6:47 pm---#49 arrives Albany 27 mins. late 7:22 pm---# 64 arrives Albany 22 mins. late 7:48 pm---#49 departs Albany for Chicago. Arrives Syracuse 10:58 pm(1 hr., 09 mins. late) Estimated arrival Chicago as of 11:10 pm: 15 mins. early at 9:30 am. If it works out that way that's pretty good for a train departing NY 40 mins. late Unfortunately Boston line passengers had a long wait Albany This is not intended to be a criticism of Amtrak......it's interesting to me(and others I hope) to see how things work out Date: 11/30/15 04:41 Re: Albany and the Lake Shore Today Author: cutboy2 This is not bad at all. In 2015 USA.
Date: 11/30/15 05:03 Re: Albany and the Lake Shore Today Author: SpeederDriver It's interesting to note that #49 made up 13 minutes between NYP and albany, arriving only 27 minutes late. But then it lost that and another 3 mintues sitting in the station, departing 43 minutes late. Between ALB and SDY it lost an additonal 24, departing the latter 1:07 down. This morning, it's 1:04 late out of TOL. How much can it make up into chicage?

The computer assumes to get the 15 minute early arrival into Chicago, everything will go well the rest of the way. If it's late into Toledo, it is almost certain to lose more time between there and Chicago.

Posted from Android Date: 11/30/15 07:05 Re: Albany and the Lake Shore Today Author: twropr To add insult to injury, on the Mohawk feed, I heard CSX's NC dispatcher tell train #288 to hold at CP 169 (junction between CSX's Selkirk Branch and Amtrak's single track Hudson Sub.) for #49, which was stopped at West Albany getting permission to proceed west with cab signals cut out. #288 lost about 32" and #49 about 24"

The present estimate of competition is 2057 or earlier if the stars align correctly. Date: 11/30/15 08:05 Re: Albany and the Lake Shore Today Author: CP4743 Lackawanna484 Wrote:
