Half the PABT is just 30 years old, but they won't tell you that.

The recent revelations about the proposed routing of the Queens street car route make it abundantly clear about which developers have access to NYC City Hall transit planning. Let those developers buy some land around Secaucus, and the #7 would be on its way tomorrow. (There's some truth to that in most regimes. Bloomberg pushed the #7 extension to Hudson Yards in part by getting the developers who would most benefit to agree to a special transportation tax for the nearby blocks which would connect with the station. The scope of the work got the unions on board. The construction trades, the real estate developers, Mike and Governor Cuomo worked effectively when their interests were in alignment.) |
