Paul Ramer Cincinnati, OH Date: 06/26/16 10:10 Re: NY Transit Museum Parade of Trains Author: chuchubob The Parade of Trains operated only on elevated tracks.

What was the Photo Ops strategy? Buy a ticket and stay on the platforms? Or find a view from a building or parking area? How does that work? Are the older cars seperated from the current passenger fleet, are people standing aside and not boarding the older cars, waiting for their usual car? Edited 1 time(s). Date: 06/26/16 13:23 Re: NY Transit Museum Parade of Trains Author: chuchubob The Parade of Trains made out and back trips from the Brighton Beach station on the Q Line. The B express trains use the two center tracks and the Q uses the outside tracks. The B express doesn't operate on weekends, so the inside trcks were available between Ocean Parkway and Kings Highway. Major MOW was being done on the express tracks the other side of Kings Highway.
Anybody who was in the subway system could ride the Museum trains. It cost me a $2.75 Metrocard swipe to enter the system at Herald Square after walking there (one long block) from Penn Station. I snapped some photos from the platforms at Brighton Beach, then rode a Q train to Neck Road where I got the remainder of my photos. The first three and the last photo were from Brighton Beach; the ones between were from Neck Road. |
