NYPD using subway vapor wave dogs

WABC-7 reports on police dogs trained to detect the vapor or scent of explosives in the subway. The dogs are trained to detect even the slightest trace in a back pack etc. Other dogs will be trained to ID biological threats.

The USML Category V — Explosives and Energetic Materials, Propellants, Incendiary Agents, and Their Constituents - lists several hundred specfic chemicals. Will the NYPD have to have several hundred dogs to cover the possibilities?

Things are always progressing in technology.  Police also use dogs that can smell out a hidden thumbdrive in a residence.

Yes.  When they find some they don't just sit to inform the handler, they glow in the dark also.
