Looks a little lonely!

Daily ridership at Anniston is about 16, so on the average 4 passengers get on and 4 passengers get off each train.

Four is about what I've witnessed on each train I've seen here so far.

Anniston sure is proud to be an Amtrak-served community. In the three or four places I've encountered an Anniston city limits sign, right below it has been a larger sign proclaiming their Amtrak service.

The train depot also appears to be the central hub of the city bus lines, although there isn't really any bus infrastructure other than a sign that says "buses only" out front.

And from what I observed yesterday when four buses converged on the depot at the same time, it looks like they have four bus routes -- north, south, east, and west.

I believe that's the conductor and he has the stepbox in his other hand.

It sure looks like it.  You can see the yellow stepbox if you zoom in....

What happen to Safety First ?

Yes, I know in europe, they do not know what a step box is.  But the folks using the service have been raised with the system and understand it.

I'm glad to see the Conductor helping the passenger carry a bag down the steps.  That's good customer service.

But a baseball cap?  No tie?

Again, I'm glad to see him helping carry the bag.

At least his shirt is tucked in, unlike the lounge attendant I had on a recent westbound Zephyr trip.
