The locomotive's GPS tracking device thinks they're 10 minutes early at Lafayette as of 5 minutes ago.  Maybe nothing happened?

I am told there was a tornado south of Lafayette, and there is some damage.  It may be that signals are down.  Passengers were taken off at Lafayette and bused, and the train will head to Indianapolis when the track is reopened.  Subject to change without notice....

There was a tornado outbreak in central Indiana today.  Kokomo got the worst of it, but Crawfordsville, Brownsburg, and Indy got hit too.  Lots of damage, but thankfully, no fatalities that I'm aware of.

Saw this on MSNBC this morning. Very horrific and worse-than-predicted tornadoes for the midwest in August.

Off topic of railroads but on the topic of tornados.  I got off work after watching the Kokomo, IN storm on radar heading towards my county in Ohio.  I decided to take a drive as see what there was to see.  Intercepted the storm west of Ohio City and followed multiple tornados and funnels to east of Van Wert, Oh. This same storm continued to produce warnings in a path toward Deshler, OH.  It was business as usual for CSX as they continued to run trains through town while under tornado warning.

Dangerous, that's for sure.  Glad there was no loss of life
