Rocky Mountaineer Comes To Seattle

Lsst Saturday, Amtrak ran the Rocky Mountaineer equipment to Seattle. This video was taken on its return trip to Vancouver at Richmond Beach, WA. This video was taken with my iPad so the quality is not what we would prefer.

Why is Amtrak doing this?

Rocky Mountaineer is the one doing this. They just contract with Amtrak to provide the operating crews and access to the BNSF railway.

Locomotives operating in the United States are required to carry a current Blue Card. Is there an agreement between the FRA and the Canadian Ministry of Transport to honor each other's locomotive certification? I know our locomotives operate on Canada and Canadian locomotives operate in the US. How does this work?

This was before they got delayed by the anti coal protesters in Bellingham. I dogcaught the train and took it to Vancouver, BC. The passengers were long gone.
