Passenger Trains > Amtrak reservations down .... again

Looks like another fun day for people wanting to book travel -- at least this time they have a bright red note on the opening splash page so you don't just try to book and wait, .... and wait, .... and wait. 

Alas, not such warning for those using rhe AMTRAK app  ....

Track-A-Train link is alive on the website but the program is frozen at over two hours ago.
 

Never known Delta to go down except for system wide crash. And pretty sure it gets way more traffic.

Appears to be fixed, for now.  Came back about 15 minutes ago, around 940am Pacific.

Oh, the humanity.
 

This may have been part f a Denial of Service attack on some DNS providers in the northeast.  Bad attact this morning, lots of stuff down for a couple of hours.  Probably not Amtrak's fault.
 

The slight difference here being that when their's or any other airline has a system fart, mass chaos insues. Many thousands of people are affected. But you know that, just another attempt of a weak jab.

The denial of service was huge, took out a lot of servers for varying periods of time.  Older systems were especially at risk.

Denial of service primarily affected the US East Coast. If an organization did not have
alternate resources on which to draw, they were disabled.

Did you hear anything about American Airlines, Delta, United, Alaska and Southwest being
out? NO?

Heck...TRAINORDERS members were able to post and discuss the Amtrak outage, in
the midst of this attack.  But Amtrak?  UNAVAILABLE.
