Looks like the chronically confused, do-nothing, sleazy PANYNJ is at it again.
Ask Staten Islanders about more  reasonable bridge tolls to the Garden State, especially truck drivers to/from the super-busy Howland Hook Container Terminal.

The PANYNJ is viewed by both Cuomo and Christie as a bottomless piggy bank for their pet projects, and a source of patronage jobs.  The transportation mission is #39 on a list of things they expect it to do.

The want it to fund the Gateway tunnel for Amtrak, build a new LaGuardia airport, lift the Bayonne bridge, build a new bus terminal, etc. And it still hasn't built the very first thing it was intended to build. A freight rail tunnel under NY Bay. They're studied it dozens of times, while they buld other stuff, however...

Priorities should be for those projects that ease congestion, benefit users.  If you prefer everything for free try living in North Korea.

​If you want to do business at the largest U.S. market place, you aren't alone, but realize moving millions of folks annually presents an infrastructure cost to accomplish same.

Politics...Don't ya just love it.  Figure out how paying for your pet project will help someone in  office get reelected, and u r off to the races.

We will forever be a bunch of self-interested animals with just enuf brains to manipulate our surroundings for our own personal gain.

There's an enormous amount of political sludge in road building.  From property acquisition to bond underwriting and public purpose determination, all kinds of required studies,lots of money moving behind the scenes

Funny how they ignore the brand new Goethals bridge currently under construction, and the ongoing project to raise the Bayonne Bridge.  Both will directly benefit those same truck drivers, and their livelihood.
