Author: retcsxcfm

Sorry to be about ten days behind on posting.Computer crashed!
Tuesday October 25,2016
Hope Ar.Two hours down running on exMOP.
A dining car server,Julia* made consession for me by
letting me sit where I wanted.
Also helping her was Marcello*.Great personally and likes
to interact with passengers.

UP doing lots of trackwork. We had to pull by and back in
at Longview.

Mineola three hours behind.

Just east of Dallas, had to stop train so engineer could copy orders!

From Dallas to Ft.Worth we travel over TRE tracks.

Finally arrived at 12:15AM,10-26-2016!
After 32 hours of slow orders and freight trains,I thought we would
never get there.I was TIRED!.Reserved taxi met  me,with a very nice exUSAF
driver.Cost $40.00 to hotel,but worth it.

The conductor from FW to SAS was very good.He helped passengers to make
travel arrangements.

This leg photos attached.

Thanks,
Uncle Joe

Thanks for the travelogue.  You even got the "X" in the pavement marking the spot where President Kennedy was shot, above and to the right of the third vehicle (in the middle lane) in your second "grassy knoll" photo (kind of looks like a blob in the photo).
