City Of New Orleans route question
Author: Amtrak288

I know someone on this board should know this.  What is the name of the route that the CONO uses when riding along Lake Ponchartrain as well as the line the train then takes to make the backup move into the New Orleans station?

CN/IC along the South shore of the lake northbound to Hammond and beyond,

Last time I rode 59 it ran straight in.

Amtrak NOUPT for the last few miles of the trip.

The leg of the wye on which trains turn before backing into NOUPT is no longer a through route, although the ROW is visible on Google maps running slightly south of the current route used by the CNO and Sunset to reach the station.
