Passenger Trains > Viewliner II diners

Anybody have an update on the Viewliner II diner ?  Still be tested?  Employee familairazion?   We'll be on the Lake Shore Limited in 6 weeks.  Wondering if Amtrak will have any accepted by then?  I know they've replaced the heritage diners with an Amfleet cafe/dinette.  But, I want a real diner.  :)

The Annapolis has been seen on trains 97&98,as well as the Indianapolis.

I think these cars are 3 years late and counting -- and a long 8 years since they were first ordered.

​Yet, no one knows the reason for this big delay. (My guess it is  dirty politics rather than a builder problem).

Three years late is being generous. I was hoping they'd get the sleepers out next as they would actually help generate some incremental cash. The Baggage/Dorms will help put the crew in a "crew car" - but ir it is only 10 cars and will only be for two train lines (likely the Crescent and Meteor).
