According to Amtrak Status Map 3 (21) left Princeton, IL (MP 104) at 4:51P and arrived Galesburg (MP 162) at 5:01P. That's 58 miles in 10 mins, an average speed of 348 MPH! It didn't leave GBB until 5:48P, 47 minutes later. Presumably it was cooling its wheels there after a rather remarkable run.

I saw that also, definitely a fast Amtrak train...

Hopefully Railfan2 in Galesburg made some shutter speed adjustments and got some photos up around Altona or Oneida, IL as this train passed.. :)

At that rate, you could have ordered something in the cafe car and had it handed to you 2 minutes before you paid for it!!!
