Passenger Trains > Tonight's Lake Shore #49Date: 03/24/17 20:14 Tonight's Lake Shore #49 Author: twropr Am listening to #49 on the Mohawk Stream - went by Big Nose MP 192 at 11:08 pm.
CP 4743 had observed #449 tieing onto LAKE SHORE equipment in Albany-Rensselaer that we believe had been #48's train, turned for #49. It will be interesting to learn how the passengers got from NY to A-R. Am told that some Empire trains had turned at Croton-Harmon, with Metro-North running shuttles to take the passengers between CRT and Grand Central. Not sure if they then boarded an Amfleet train to Albany there and then picked up a "turned" #48 to #49 in Albany or not. The other option being Amtrak took #49 ahead of schedule out of Sunnyside and out to Croton Harmon via New Rochelle and then onto Metro North to join up with its Hudson River line. |
