Service to Tenafly would take hundreds of cars off the road, wouldn't be an issue with quiet electric lightrail operation. Dual tracking would be easy, I believe CSX
sold the right of way to NJ or NJ Transit about 4 years ago. CSX freight used to go almost to NY border, then cut back maybe 5 years now so as not to go beyond vegetable oil plant in Englewood, just S of Palisade Ave. Really would be a relatively each project and appreciated by many, except mayor of Tenafly. |
