Great catch.
What does the 37 mean on what looks like the backside of the mirror?
Thanks Robert

Great shot, and thanks for the smiles.

I don't recall any news of Leprechaun trespasser strike yesterday...

I understand consultants have already been hired to design a project plan to search for this pot of gold...

Caltrain displays the train number, like SP of old.

Caltrain uses 3 digit train numbers, with the first digit telling you what type of train it is.  1xx's are locals, making all stops.  2xx's are limited and skip some stops.  3xx's are "baby bullets" and make only 4 or 5 stops between San Jose and San Francisco.  4xx's are weekend locals and 8xx's are weekend bullets making 7 stops.  On all the cab cars and old locomotives, the last two digits of the train number are displayed on the back of the mirrors.   On the MP36 locos, the entire train number is shown on the electronic display on the nose.  In this particular picture the train is going away from the camera and the numbers are left over from the last time that cab car was heading north.

That term "Baby Bullet" is so juvenile.  You have locals, limited and EXPRESS trains, not "Baby Bullets."  So dumb.

It is kind of a silly name. But, on the other hand, it's kind of catchy and helped the politician who spearheaded the effort to sell it and get funding.

"Express trains" doesn't really garner the same attention and excitement that "baby bullet" does.

Great shot and great concept!

The Baby Bullet branding seems to have worked pretty well with the public, which is what they wanted.

"Bullet" is politically acceptable?

In Washington DC, The Bullets team was told to change its name. They picked Wizards.

People apparently we're upset by the Bullets name in DC.   (Sheesh!)
