What utter B.S. Amtrak lies to us and the public about these dining cars. They simply do not want to repair them. Somehow VIA Rail has the same Budd diners running every day across the continent. Date: 04/17/17 21:11 Re: Illini Author: bretton88 Just because the diner is road worthy doesn't mean that it is certified for occupancy or has working hvac even, the trucks are probably the part of the diner that still works. The viewliner sleeper is an odd choice though.

No parts or a real desire to fix it and bring in some real revenue ! Date: 04/18/17 06:00 Re: Illini Author: Railfan2 Ive seen it with new baggage cars and even the Amtrak full dome!
