Great....I'm heading east from AZ on April 27th.  With minimal options for rental car return at Maricopa I'm driving from Chandler down to Tucson to catch #2.  Tempe shuttle would be a useful option.

That makes it easy for me, I can take either the Grey Dog or Arizona Shuttle and meet the Amtrak Truway at the airport, a lot better than having to drive all the way to Maricopa which was my plan once I had a car, but still, why the hell did it take so long, they should've done this when 1 and 2 were rerouted onto the Sunset Route in the 1ST Place!

This service was spear headed by a manager of the train, along with some other nice items on the Sunset-Eagle. Some may not be placed into service, however, as the Amtrak reorganization has new folks in charge as they rearrange the deck chairs still again!.

Same issue with the Coast Starlight and Southwest. New business cards or retirement. It takes local folks on the ground that really care, along with a few at HQ taking note. That's what they have had for the 2/3 years, but as we know, nothing remains the same at Amtrak.

Yeah especially when the bad apples make sure the good people who run Amtrak are run out ASAP so they can screw things up!

You can find the times by going to the Amtrak web page and booking a phantom trip for a date after May 1. For example, the westbound connections from/to the Phoenix Airport (PHA) are as follows:

Thruway bus lv. PHA 7:00pm
Thruway bus Ar. MRC 8:00pm
Train 1 Ar. MRC 8:52pm
Train l Lv. MRC 9:02pm
Thruway bus Lv. MRC 9:15pm
Thruway buy Ar. PHA 10:15pm

NO connecting transportation was offered as a scheduled service.

Nava Hopi Tours of Flagstaff looked into it, o tie into its FLG-Phoenix Airport service. But decided it would not pay its way.
